Surrey, B.C. – Carlin Gold Corporation (TSX Venture, CGD), ("Carlin" or the "Company") is pleased to provide the following update on three of its gold exploration properties in Nevada.

An initial 5,000 foot, 5-6 hole drilling program has commenced on the Company's Willow Creek project, located 30 miles north of Wells in Elko County. Piedmont Mining Company is funding the program as part of its 5 year, US$3.5 million dollar expenditure to earn a 51% interest. Carlin is managing the exploration program during the earn-in. The exploration target is a Carlin-style disseminated gold deposit.

The Company's Whisky Canyon property, located 15 miles south of Battle Mountain in Lander County, is permitted and drill-ready. Several drill targets have been identified on this strongly mineralized, four-square mile property. The primary target is the Yankee gold anomaly, located near the old Betty O'Neal silver mine. The Company is seeking a drill rig to complete an eight hole, 5,000 foot drill program to be conducted on the Yankee anomaly.

Drilling is scheduled to commence this fall at the Company's Pine Grove project, Lyon County, by partner Romarco Minerals Corporation. Romarco is earning a 60% interest by completing expenditures of US$2.0 million over 5 years. The principal target at Pine Grove is a system of bonanza-grade low sulfidation-type veins associated with the emplacement of a complex of rhyolite domes. Romarco is now concentrating on the Rockland mine area on the west side of the property. The Rockland Mine was a small gold-silver producer from 1870 to 1934. Romarco has advised that a seven hole, 3,500 foot core drilling program is anticipated to begin as soon as the U.S. Forest Service drill permits are received. These permits are expected shortly.
